Summer Performing Arts Camp
Northlight's Performing Arts Camp combines professional theatre training with timeless summer camp traditions and a public end-of-session showcase performed on our professional stage for family and friends.

Northlight Performing Arts Camp serves JUNIOR CAMPERS (Grades 3-6) and SENIOR CAMPERS (Grades 7-10).
Camp highlights include:
• Field trips and performances from top Chicago theatres each session
• Workshops with guest artists from theatres such as Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Redmoon Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre Company and/or Northlight Theatre
• Core classes shape the skills of our junior campers and advance the skills of our senior campers in acting, improvisation, singing, movement and backstage technique; and exciting electives introduce junior campers to mask work, playwriting, musical theatre and senior campers to advanced improvisation, Shakespeare, stage make-up and more!
• Weekly (Junior Camp) or bi-weekly (Senior Camp) Friday afternoon trips to the Skokie Water Park.
Northlight's education programming is built on the belief that self-expression, creative thought and confidence are the keys to well-being. We believe the arts teach these skills by encouraging reflective thought, discipline and collaboration.
Our philosophy is to recognize each child as an individual. Our teaching professionals are committed to sharing their love of theatre in a safe, age-appropriate setting and to helping students build a lifelong appreciation for theatre and the arts.
SUMMER 2012Session Dates*: Session 1: June 18 - July 13, 2012 (Camp show - July 12; no Camp July 4)
Session 2: July 17 - August 10, 2012 (Camp show - August 9; no Camp July 16) LOCATION: Camp is always within walking distance of Northlight Theatre located at 9501 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL 60077 in the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts. Keeping with Northlight's camp tradition, tech week and final showcases are performed on our professional stage. Experience the magic of learning at the largest theatre on the North Shore.
FEES: Two sessions or siblings: $1740 before March 15th; $1770 after March 15th SCHOLARSHIPS: Need-based scholarships are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications are available by clicking here. Scholarship requests will not be accepted after March 30, 2012.
